Utility Company Acquires Swiss Immigration Company | Southeast Deals

Utility provider Serco has acquired a Swiss immigration company – which operates in Germany, Austria and Italy – in a £39million deal.

ORS has 30 years of experience in the asylum and immigration process, from initial reception in the country to orientation, care, community integration and repatriation.

Acquired by Serco Group, its 2,000 employees and experienced management team are expected to add scale to the listed company’s European operations and provide reach and capabilities to its position in immigration services.

ORS’ turnover for the year to 31 December 2021 was 110 million Swiss francs (£97 million).

Rupert Soames, Group Managing Director of Serco, said: “We have deep expertise in delivering immigration services with care and respect.

“This strategic acquisition will allow us to work with and support government clients across Europe who have a continued and growing need for immigration and asylum support services.

“The acquisition will also support our goal of strengthening our European business, approximately doubling its size and expanding the range of services provided.”

Details of the advisers who worked on the deal were not disclosed.
