    I’m afraid I didn’t find the sub-plot credible. I can’t help thinking that any police officers reading it must be laughing their heads off, or grinding their teeth in anger.

    There are some very good points in this book. I like the idea of getting to know the crime team. However there wasn’t any what I would call couldn’t put the book down points. This is the first book I have read by this author, so I accept I had not followed the characters from the first book.

    I'm always disappointed when the book ends :( I read every page willing there to be another one for me to savour. I know superb crime writing takes time so I'll go and sulk for a year Val whilst I await, hopefully the next instalment. I can't compliment the book enough; another thrilling McDermid. I think it's one of those times where you go to the bookcase pick up The Mermaids Singing and simply start the saga again. Thank you for another great instalment.
